John Hickman - Freelance Motoring Journalist

A graduate of The London School of Journalism I am a freelance motoring journalist with a passion for classic cars.

I experienced most aspects of professional motor sport whilst working as a motoring journalist in a public relations role for a top British motor racing team; a useful background for a freelance motoring journalist. Consequently, as well as having good contacts within the sport I benefit from a good understanding of car balance, handling and driveability.

Being a qualified engineer also helps; I have a background in electronics, modal analysis and rotating machinery analysis and therefore an all-inclusive curiosity about vehicle dynamics and performance.

Whilst I specialise in classic cars, as a freelance motoring journalist I am equally intrigued by some of the new green-vehicle technologies.
